BELCO announced Okeisha Clarke as the winner of a $500 BELCO gift card as part of an ebilling campaign which aimed to get more customers signed up for electronic bills.

A spokesperson said, “All customers who were signed up for ebilling at the time of the draw were eligible to win. The ebilling draw ran from January 1 to Earth Day on April 22, and during this time an additional 356 customers switched to ebilling.

“BELCO launched the campaign as part of the Company’s long-standing commitment to sustainability with the goal of reducing paper use. Every month bills are still being printed and mailed, and customers can help reduce this paper use by switching to ebilling.

“Switching to paperless billing is easy. Customers can visit a dedicated page on the BELCO website at belco.bm/belco-paperless-billing or send an email to info@belco.bm to sign up. Paper production uses a large amount of energy and water and contributes to climate change. By opting to receive ebills, customers can help save trees, energy and water and reduce carbon emissions for a more sustainable planet.”

BELCO Managing Director, Transmission Distribution & Retail, Shelly Leman said: “At BELCO we are always seeking ways to improve sustainability and reduce our impact on the environment. For several years we have encouraged our customers to switch to ebilling with a goal to reduce the amount of paper we use. I encourage customers who haven’t signed up for ebills yet to do so and by working together we can reduce our environmental impact and progress our goal of ensuring BELCO becomes a more sustainable Company.”
