Bermuda Is Love ‘LoveYourNeighbour’ Campaign
This July, Bermuda Is Love is launching the #LoveYourNeighbour Campaign as a call to action for every person to recognize and act on their duty to love one another.
A spokesperson said, “We all have a moral obligation to love. To love means to treat others with dignity, compassion, empathy, and respect.
“Bermuda Is Love seeks to transform the hearts and minds of all individuals to always act in love and recognize our shared humanity.
“We must all see ourselves in each other. See that we are all human, deserving of equal rights and dignity. Equally deserving of being loved and treated with respect.
“We must seek to go beyond the barriers of illusory status. No one is better than another. No one deserves to live in poverty while others live in extreme wealth. No one deserves to be left behind.
“Each of us is equal in dignity and rights. Each of us has the right to have our basic needs met. Each of us has the right to live meaningful and flourishing lives.
“It is only when a person’s basic needs are secured, that they are better able to connect with one another, fostering a community built on love, care, and shared responsibility. And it is only by us recognizing and acting on our duty to love that humanity can truly flourish.
“The meaning of Bermuda Is Love is to care for others, to be kind, to be selfless. It is the vision we set for all of Bermuda. To recognise our collective duty to love each other.
“We believe in building a compassionate, supportive community where every person is committed to the well-being of others, recognizing and acting on our shared responsibility to make Bermuda a better place, where every act is done in the name of our shared love for humanity.
“Let all that you do, be done in love. Let all that you are, be made into love. Let love be the foundation of who we are as a society. It is up to each of us to help make this vision a reality.
“As part of this month’s campaign, we aim to build a community of love, raise awareness around the importance of securing basic needs for all, and advocate for systemic change that can help create a society where we can all live in love.
“Please join us this month for a variety of community events to put your love for others into action, and help build a better Bermuda where every individual feels valued, respected, and loved.

A wonderful sentiment.
But to quote Sir John Swan, “if you do anything against the Government, then you’ll suffer the consequences.” Apparently, not all of us are getting the right message.
An excellent concept. Congrats to the team for their efforts to think outside the boxes
