OpenMat Athletes Win 13 Medals In Boston

Athletes from OpenMat Bermuda have returned home with 13 medals from the Grappling Industries BJJ GI and No Gi Round-Robin Tournament in Boston.

A team of 12 athletes represented the Brazilian jiu-jitsu gym at the competition on Saturday [July 13].

In the junior division, Dash Irvine won gold in the No Gi and silver in the Gi competitions, Gaia Angeli claimed silver in the Gi, Thea Dyer secured silver in the No Gi and Gi, and Giles Roberts took bronze in the No Gi.

Meanwhile, in the adult divisions, Jahmali Bridgewater [200lbs] won bronze in the Gi and silver in the No Gi, Reina Maya [135lbs] claimed gold in the No Gi, Greg Maybury [170lbs] took bronze in the No Gi, Ramazan Ramazanov [200lbs] secured silver in the No Gi and Gi, and Erica Frith [170lbs] won bronze in the No Gi.
