Eleven Somersfield Students Achieved IB Diploma
Somersfield Academy announced that all 11 students who pursued the full International Baccalaureate [IB] Diploma this year have successfully achieved their diplomas.
A spokesperson said, “The school is the only in Bermuda to offer the Middle Years IB Programme, which also saw pass results from 100% of students. This marks a significant accomplishment for our small cohort, with several students earning grades higher than their predicted scores.
“Somersfield’s 2024 DP2 class consisted of 13 students, 11 of whom were enrolled in the full IB Diploma Programme, while 2 students pursued individual IB courses. This year’s results highlight the hard work and resilience of our students, who navigated the challenges of this rigorous programme with determination and focus.

With 100% of eligible M5 students receiving their IB-MYP certificates there is certainly cause for celebration! Overall individual point totals and subject averages amongst the 270 IB schools [in 72 countries] also proved to be extremely competitive further showing the successful classroom preparation and performance at M5. Congratulations to all!’
Anne-Laure Bazin [DP Coordinator] said: “I am incredibly proud of our students for achieving a 100% pass rate in the full IB Diploma. Their success reflects their dedication to academic excellence and personal growth over the past two years. I also want to acknowledge the tremendous efforts of our DP teaching and support staff, whose dedication has been crucial in supporting our students through this challenging course of study.”
Charlie Judd [Head of Secondary] said: “These results reflect the hard work and resilience our students have shown throughout their time in the IB Diploma Programme. It’s been inspiring to watch them grow academically and personally, and I’m confident they’re well-prepared for whatever comes next. I’d like to thank our teachers and support staff for their exceptional efforts in guiding our students to success.”
