Bermuda Youth Basketball Online Registration
The Bermuda Youth Basketball [BYB] will begin online registration on August 30th for the upcoming season.
A spokesperson said, “Bermuda Youth Basketball [BYB] will begin online registration August 30, 2024 for the upcoming season. Prospective players, both male and female, can register online at www.bermudayouthbasketball.com. BYB has two age divisions that players can register under, namely Starter Division and All-Star Division. The Starter Division is for players aged 10 – 13 years old. The All-Star Division is for players aged 14-18 years old who are in high school.
“Registration fee is $150 for the upcoming season, which runs from October 5, 2024 – March 2025 and operates from Mount Saint Agnes Gymnasium on Saturdays.
“BYB’s mission is to provide youth basketball players with an opportunity to play organized basketball in an environment that fosters growth and development. Player assessments via a training camp at the beginning of the season will help place them on appropriate skill level teams. Key features of the league include full statistics, shot clock, referees and feedback, which aids in player development.
“While BYB has a dedicated team of volunteers to assist with coaching, game statistics, game clock, shot clock operation, referees and photographs/film we welcome any new persons who may be interested in volunteering. Should you be interested in volunteering your time to BYB in any of the categories you can email us at bermudayouthbasketball@outlook.com.
“BYB is a youth development partner of the Bermuda Basketball Association [BBA]. Through this partnership, we train and assist the BBA with national team selections for U16, U17 and U18 teams who represent Bermuda both locally and overseas in various tournaments.
“BYB are also partners with G.E.S.P. to provide players who are seeking the next level in their basketball development with boarding school placements overseas. In April 2024, we participated in our first annual basketball showcase of which overseas boarding school coaches were present to assess and train our athletes. BYB selected twenty players from the Junior National Program and we are happy to report that four will be attending boarding school this fall.”
