Youth Library To Close Temporarily For Repairs
The Bermuda National Library’s Youth Library on Church Street in Hamilton will be temporarily closed for roof repairs and structural improvements from August 24th to October 14th.
The Department of Libraries & Archives Director, Joanne Brangman, emphasised the importance of these structural repairs and improvements, stating, “These measures are necessary to enhance the library’s facilities and common areas, ensuring a better experience for our patrons. During the closure, the Youth Library staff will host the following programs in the Meeting Room at the Main Library:
- Saturdays: Saturday Storytime, Book Babies, Girls’ Club, Chess Club
- Tuesdays: Crafternoons
- Wednesdays: Teen Advisory AB
- Thursdays: Lego Club
“A limited selection of children’s and young adult books will be available for loan at the Main Library. Parents and schools are encouraged to utilise our online resources. Additionally, Youth Librarians will be available to conduct class visits at schools to promote the library and facilitate membership sign-ups at PTA meetings where scheduling permits. Our customer support services will remain available by email at youthlib@gov.bm throughout our temporary closure.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding. We expect to complete the repair work by 14 October 2024. We will provide updates once the work is underway.”
