Footballers in the First and Premier Division were in action this weekend, with the Boulevard Blazers and Dandy Town Hornets both earning wins.
First Division: Boulevard Blazers 2 Somerset Eagles 1
The Boulevard Blazers picked up their first three points of the season with a 2 – 1 come from behind win over the Somerset Eagles at the BAA Field.
The Somerset Eagles took the lead in the 21st minute when Michael Tyler Emery scored, but Shaquille Dill equalized for the Boulevard Blazers in the 43rd minute as the teams went to the break level at 1 – 1.
The Boulevard Blazers would go in front in the 65th minute and it would prove to be the winner from Khiry Easton.
Premier Division: Dandy Town Hornets 4 Wolves 1
The Dandy Town Hornets started their league season campaign off to a winning start following their 4 – 1 win over Wolves at the BAA Field.
Ereico Outerbridge gave Dandy Town Hornets the lead in the 17th minute and they would take that 1 – 0 lead to the break.
Three minutes into the second half, the Dandy Town Hornets lead was doubled when Tomiko Goater found the back of the net, Outerbridge would score his second goal of the game in the 55th minute to extend the Dandy Town Hornets lead to 3 – 0. Wolves would pull a goal back in the 75th minute when Sergio Richardson scored, but Jahkari Furbert restored the Dandy Town Hornets three goal lead in stoppage time to make the final score 4 – 1.
