Four Equestrians Set To Compete In Suriname
Bermuda equestrians Kayla Bardgett, Sierra Wolffe, Emma Kempe, and Kimoy Cruickshank will be competing at the 2024-2025 Grand Caraibe Jumping competition in Suriname from November 22 to November 24.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Equestrian Federation extends its very best wishes to four Bermuda equestrians who are preparing themselves to compete in the 2024-2025 Grand Caraibe International Jumping competition, to be held in Suriname from 22nd – 24th November.
“Representing Bermuda will be Kayla Bardgett, Sierra Wolffe, Emma Kempe, and Kimoy Cruickshank. This will Kimoy’s third occasion competing in a Grand Caraibe competition and Kayla, Sierra and Emma’s second experience.
“The competition will bring together riders from various countries including Suriname, Bahamas, Antigua, Cayman, Martinique, Jamaica, Guadeloupe and Bermuda. Competitors compete on loaned horses for the duration of the event.
“The competition is held over a two-day period. The first day is a speed class at various jump heights whilst the second day of competition comprise “jump off” classes, again at varying heights.
“The jumping categories for the competition are as followings:
- Jumpers Category Espoir [Low] 75-85 cm Jump Off maximum 105 cm
- Jumpers Category Elite [Medium] 95-105 cm – Jump Off maximum 110 cm
- Jumpers Category Grand Prix [High] 115-120 cm – Jump Off maximum 125 cm
“The Bermuda riders will be coached by Bermudian Grand Prix rider, Raishun Burch, who will also serve as Bermuda’s Team Manager.”
