Scott Barnes Earns Top 15 Finish In Vegas

November 18, 2024

Karting driver Scott Barnes finished in the top 15 in the fiercely competitive Shifter Masters class at the prestigious Skusa SuperNationals in Las Vegas yesterday (November 17).

The 40-year-old, who claimed podium finishes in 2021 and 2022, faced a stacked 50-driver field in what is considered North America’s most elite karting event.

Reflecting on the challenging competition, Barnes acknowledged the exceptional calibre of this year’s participants.

“Top 15 final in Shifter Masters starting from 23rd [on the grid],” Barnes, who races for Maranello Kart USA, wrote on social media.

“I was wishing for five more laps. We had top ten times [it], but it just took too long to get around a couple of drivers.

“Not the week we were hoping for, but I’ll take it with the luck we had. “The super-stacked 50-kart field was by far the hardest shifter Masters field at Super Nats.”

Barnes is sponsored by Butterfield & Vallis, representing their Powerade brand, and Simpsons Motorsports.
