CedarBridge Teams Up With Vault Academy
CedarBridge Academy [CBA] is partnering with Vault Academy and its esports partner FITGMR to launch “innovative esports and technology programs designed to prepare students for the fast-evolving landscape of modern industries.”
A spokesperson said, “CedarBridge Academy is redefining education in Bermuda through an exciting new partnership with Vault Academy and its esports partner, FITGMR. This groundbreaking collaboration introduces innovative e-sports and technology programs designed to prepare students for the fast-evolving landscape of modern industries.
“As the first school on the island to align with the U.S.-based Vault Academy, CedarBridge is taking a bold step forward in integrating esports and technology into its curriculum. The initiative offers students unique opportunities to explore how these fields are reshaping society and unlocking new career pathways.”
Principal Kenneth Caesar of CedarBridge Academy said, “This partnership is a testament to our commitment to providing cutting-edge educational opportunities. As a leader in STEM education through our Signature Learning Program, we aim to expose our students to the vast possibilities within this field. Esports is a global phenomenon, and we want our students to be part of this revolution.”
Vault Academy’s co-founders Keith and Shurland Oliver said, “Our mission is to empower students with the tools they need to thrive in emerging industries like esports, technology, aviation, and media. This partnership is about equipping the next generation with skills for the future.”
The spokesperson said, “Vault Academy deeply appreciates the hard work and dedication of Mrs. LaToya Francis, who has been instrumental in ensuring the program’s success. Her commitment and effort have been pivotal in bringing this innovative initiative to life and supporting the students and educators at CedarBridge Academy.
“At the heart of the program is Polynize, an innovative gamified simulation software introduced by FITGMR. Developed in Australia, Polynize uses AI-powered simulations to teach, evaluate, and certify essential professional skills in an engaging and interactive way. CedarBridge students are the first in Bermuda to experience this revolutionary platform, signaling a new era of immersive education.
“FITGMR’s approach goes beyond technical training, combining esports expertise with health, performance, and personal development. During a recent workshop hosted by Vault Academy and FITGMR, students and staff explored the platform’s capabilities, including a dynamic scenario examining the role of violence in first-person shooter games.
“One standout moment came when S4 student Daveon Kellyman made history as the first person to successfully challenge Polynize’s AI. Tasked with defending the positive aspects of first-person shooter games, Daveon skillfully argued their ability to enhance hand-eye coordination, critical thinking, and reaction times, even drawing real-life connections like improved cycling safety. His accomplishment highlighted the platform’s power to nurture critical 21st-century skills.
“The success of this initiative relies heavily on the dedication of CedarBridge educators. Teachers are providing crucial feedback on Polynize and Vault curriculum to ensure students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills applicable to the workforce. By bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, the program prepares students to excel academically and professionally.
“Vault Academy have set their sights on scaling these innovative programs to every school on the island by 2025. This ambitious vision underscores their commitment to equipping Bermudian students with the knowledge and tools to lead in the global tech and esports industries.
