Rugby League: Renegades Win Two Matches
The Renegades Rugby Club secured victories in both the men’s and women’s divisions as the Bermuda Rugby Football Union league season resumed this past weekend.
Renegades Women Dominate Police
The Renegades women’s team delivered a resounding 81-10 victory over the Police. Lianna Aggarwal led the scoring with four tries, while Steph Lee contributed three. Ashley Godek, Cat Morris, and MVP Jess Cassidy each touched down twice. Cassidy and Laura Mulligan added eight conversions between them. For the Police, Sam Burrows and Akila Craig scored tries, with Burrows named MVP for her side.
Renegades Men Secure Narrow Win
In a men’s division encounter, the Renegades edged the Police 19-17 in a 10-a-side match. Grenville Lions scored the opening try for the Renegades, converted by Robin Brickell. The Police responded through Jason Chlup, but the missed conversion left them trailing. Brickell extended the Renegades’ lead with a try and conversion.
The Police fought back with a try from Frans Smit, converted by Chlup. Wendall Anderson then gave the Police the lead with an unconverted try. However, a late try from Jamie Baum, though unconverted, secured the win for the Renegades.
