Students Encouraged To Apply For 2025 YEP
The Department of Workforce Development [DWD] has opened applications for the 2025 Youth Employment Programmes [YEP], inviting students aged 16–26 to apply for summer job opportunities.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Workforce Development [DWD] is excited to announce that the 2025 Youth Employment Programmes [YEP] applications are now open. All students aged 16 – 26 looking for summer employment are encouraged to apply.”
“The Youth Employment Programmes offer Bermudian students a unique, paid opportunity to gain invaluable career experience this summer”, explained the Minister of Economy and Labour, Jason Hayward. “Designed to inspire and empower the next generation, these programmes will provide students with practical skills, networking opportunities, and a pathway to personal and professional growth.”
The spokesperson said, “The Youth Employment Programmes are perfect for young Bermudians looking to:
- Gain hands-on work experience.
- Expand their professional networks.
- Build leadership and decision-making skills.
“Please note the following eligibility requirements for the programme,
Summer Internship Programme [High School Students]:
- Be Bermudian or Hold Bermudian status
- Be 16 years of age and no older than 18 years of age as of June 30, 2024
Summer Internship Programme [College or University Students]:
- Be Bermudian or Hold Bermudian status
- Be enrolled in college or university as of 1 December 2024
- Have a current minimum GPA of 2.7 or equivalent [UK Pass]
