TLC Group Marks Six Years In Business

The TLC Group of Companies is marking six years in business and highlighting new services launched in 2024.

A spokesperson said, “In 2018, three forward-thinking women from Bermuda came together with a clear vision: to bridge the knowledge gap in data protection. At the time, terms like GDPR [General Data Protection Regulation] and PIPA [Personal Information Protection Act], Bermuda’s data protection legislation, were new to many.

“For businesses across the island and beyond, data protection was largely uncharted territory. Some had never heard of these regulations, while others didn’t fully understand their significance. Recognizing this gap, these women set out to raise awareness and empower organizations to navigate this evolving landscape with confidence.

“And so, The TLC Group of Companies was born. Rooted in Bermudian values but incorporated in the UK, TLC began its journey virtually, long before remote work became the norm. This flexibility allowed the team to support businesses across Bermuda, the Caribbean, the US, the UK, and beyond.

“Initially, TLC approached the market with a focus on consultancy, drawing on their experience delivering these services in the UK. However, upon returning to Bermuda, the team recognized a gap: many businesses were just beginning to learn about protection, with limited understanding of GDPR and PIPA.

“Realizing the importance of raising awareness and building knowledge first, TLC pivoted their approach to focus on education and empowerment. This remains a cornerstone of their work today; whether through tailored training, consultancy, or services, TLC continues to meet businesses where they are, helping them grow in their understanding and build compliance step-by-step.

“Through this shift, TLC developed certified training programs such as the Certified Privacy Officer, Leads, and Champion courses. These programs are unique as they include Bermuda’s PIPA guidance and cultural contexts, so they are designed to build confidence, equipping businesses with the knowledge and tools to embed data protection into their operations.

“When the pandemic hit, TLC’s virtual-first model proved invaluable, allowing them to deliver training and support services globally while businesses adapted to new challenges.

“By 2021, TLC expanded its impact even further with the launch of their Sense, Shape, Adapt [SSA] Framework. This structured approach guides organizations in anticipating challenges, designing tailored strategies, and adapting to change sustainably. The SSA Framework quickly became a trusted tool for businesses navigating digital transformation, offering a clear path to resilience in an unpredictable world.

“TLC’s commitment to empowering businesses didn’t stop there. In 2024, they introduced their most innovative services yet: Chief Resilience Officer as a Service [CROaaS] and Chief Disruption Officer as a Service [CDOaaS]. These roles are designed as collaborators, offering businesses a holistic approach to navigating the complexities of today’s digital age.

“The CRO ensures that businesses are prepared, resilient, and ready to respond to challenges. From strengthening cybersecurity measures to building operational safeguards, the CRO helps organizations stay grounded and strong in the face of uncertainty.

“The CDO is the strategist for transformation. This role helps businesses reframe disruption as an opportunity, guiding them to innovate, explore new markets, and adopt cutting-edge technologies. The CDO ensures that change becomes a catalyst for growth rather than a source of stress.

“When combined, these roles offer a powerful blend of stability, agility, and vision. For example, while the CRO establishes systems to manage immediate risks, the CDO identifies opportunities to leap ahead of the competition. Together, they create a blueprint for surviving and thriving in our constantly changing world.

“From their earliest days, TLC has been guided by personal touch and practical solutions. The founders often reflect on the early days of raising awareness, where they spent time explaining concepts like GDPR and PIPA to businesses that were just starting their journey. Their ability to meet clients where they are [whether they’re just learning the basics or ready to embrace advanced strategies] has been central to their success.

“Today, The TLC Group of Companies is much more than a data protection firm. They are trusted advisors, educators, and innovators, helping businesses transform, adapt, and thrive. Their story, rooted in the values of these Bermudian-born, globally-connected women, proves that real innovation begins with understanding, education, and a commitment to empowering others.

“As businesses face the challenges of digital transformation, The TLC Group is ready to guide them with services that combine expertise, resilience, and a bold vision for the future.
