Downed Utility Line Injures Man
A man in his 70s was injured by a downed utility line in Hamilton parish.
A police spokesperson said, “There is a downed utility line in the area of Shelly Bay Marketplace, Hamilton Parish.
“A man believed to be in his 70s has sustained injuries as a result, and is currently being treated at King Edward Memorial Hospital. The extent of his injuries are unknown to police. However, the man was conscious and responding to emergency personnel at the scene.
“Police are currently diverting traffic through Radnor Road while crews work.
“We are advising all motorist and pedestrians to use alternative routes where possible, until the road is reopened.”
Update: A police spokesperson said, “The road is now clear and reopened to normal traffic flow.”
