Ingham & Desmond Face Off In Key Meet
Swimmers Caleb Ingham and Brian Desmond went head-to-head as La Salle University took on Fordham University in a key meet ahead of the Atlantic-10 championships.
The meet, held at Fordham, marked senior day for the Rams, with Desmond among those honored for their contributions to the team.
Both Ingham and Desmond featured prominently in their respective teams’ relays. In the men’s 200 yard medley relay, Desmond swam the first leg for Fordham’s B team, who finished third in a time of 1:35.22. Ingham’s La Salle B team finished fifth in 1:39.49.
The pair then competed in individual events. Desmond secured a second-place finish in the men’s 100 yard backstroke with a time of 53.42, while Ingham also claimed second place in the men’s 50 yard freestyle, clocking 21.76.
In the men’s 100 yard freestyle, Ingham finished sixth with a time of 49.35. Desmond, meanwhile, secured fourth place in the men’s 200 yard backstroke, touching the wall in 2:00.55.
Both swimmers returned to relay action in the men’s 200 yard freestyle relay. Ingham swam the second leg for La Salle’s A team, who finished second in 1:25.57. Desmond swam the same leg for Fordham’s D team, who finished fifth in 1:28.80.
