Open Mat Claim Nine Medals In Toronto

Open Mat Bermuda claimed nine medals at the Grappling Industries Gi and No-Gi Round-Robin Tournament in Toronto, Canada, at the weekend.

Nine athletes from the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym competed at the tournament, held at Toronto Metropolitan University, with Ezra Dyer, Keegan Dyer, Jahmali Bridgewater, Ashley Dyer, Ryan Hopkins and Reina Maypa securing podium finishes.

Ezra won silver in the Gi Kids yellow/orange belt, 14-15 years, male 105lb division and bronze in the No Gi Kids Advanced yellow/orange belt 14-15 years, male 105lbs; Keegan claimed silver in the Gi Adult white belt, male 155lb division, Bridgewater grabbed bronze in the Gi Adult, blue belt, male 170lb division and gold in the Absolute Adult Gi, white belt division, Ashley took silver in the No Gi Adult, blue belt, male 185lb division; Maypa won gold in the No Gi Adult Advanced purple belt, female 145lb division; and Hopkins claimed bronze in the No Gi Adult Intermediate, blue belt, male 185lbs division.

Greg Maybury, Elijah Richardson, and Michael Walsh also represented Open Mat Bermuda.
