Update: Suzie Arruda is the independent candidate for Constituency #19 Pembroke West
Update: Ms Arruda’s flyer is below. C19 is currently held by the PLP’s Jache Adams. Since the one seat system started in 2003, the OBA or UBP won the Pembroke West seat in all 4 General Elections, however that changed in 2020, when the PLP’s Jache Adams won this seat with 51.54% of the vote.

Anyone running should be congratulated for taking on the work of a candidate and MP if successful in an election. However looking at the 2020 results for C19, 39 voters voted for FDM. Not knowing who they would have voted for had there only been the options of PLP and OBA, the PLP still won – a big change for C19. Had they been all OBA votes, PLP would have won only by a narrow margin of 22 votes. Had they been all PLP, then obviously a wider margin. At this late stage, voting for an independent candidate may again assist the PLP’s win for those looking for a change, by not voting OBA.
