  1. Hey says:

“It’s not about us and them”

  2. Islander says:

    “We are looking to expand”

seems to be a common phrase used by the PLP despite having PLENTY of time to expand these already with no action or results.

    • watching says:

Actually untrue. If being objective, you would know understand that the first 2 years of the PLP’s government (2017-2019) saw positive economic activity and things were on a positive trajectory. COVID came and put a wrencn in everything. Since COVID, it has been a challenge worldwide for everyone to get back on their feet. The last years have seen the financial performance of the government on sound footing, and now they are able to responsibly expand certain initiatives and benefits. Wouldn’t it have been irresponsible to expand without considering the costs and how they would be paid for?

      • Ringmaster says:

So you are saying from 2017 to 2019 saw positive economic activity. Thank the OBA for that. Covid came and Bermuda has still not recovered, unlike the Caribbean who is seeing record tourism arrivals and hotel construction. Bermuda is left behind while the PLP blame anyone and anything except themselves.

      • hmmm says:

That positive trajectory was the continued realization of the work that the OBA had done to turn the economy around. Please do not be deceitful.

Please tell me what the PLP did in 2017, 2018 and 2019? Was it fintech (that didn’t materialize anything of note).

      • Question says:

nope. Every year from 2018 onwards has been dismal. The economy has circled the drain every year, although the government does its best to hide it. We never get consolidated numbers going back ten years, for example.

      • Toodle-oo says:

Rubbish . Economic models and charts show everything going back downhill a month after the OBA lost and the plp was back in.
