BDA BJJ Earns Third At Raleigh Championship

The Bermuda Brazilian Jiu Jitsu [BJJ] team has returned home with accolades after a successful showing at the Raleigh Winter Championship in North Carolina. Under the leadership of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, Roberto Carneiro, the team secured an impressive 3rd place overall in the Adult Best Academy category.

The team, consisting of Roberto Carneiro, Helena Carneiro, Jackson Chin, Ruben Rocha Bulhoes, Amani Wears, and Mark Ogilvie, along with Aaron Lugo Jr. from Aries Sports Center, competed in both GI and No GI events. Their strong performances resulted in a haul of medals across various age groups, including 5 Gold, 3 Silver, and 1 Bronze.

Coach Roberto Carneiro praised his team’s efforts, stating, “It was a great experience; we had a lot of fun and learned a lot! I’m very proud of all the guys competing and everyone that helped us get prepared for the challenge.”
