Emperial Group Launches ‘Vote 4 Unity’

February 4, 2025 | 6 Comments

The Emperial Group has officially launched the ‘Vote 4 Unity Campaign,’ which they describe as “strategic step toward revolutionizing the current political climate by uniting the combined opposition to ensure a competitive challenge against the current administration.”

A spokesperson said, “Now that the much-anticipated Nomination Day is behind us and candidates for the upcoming election have been confirmed, the Emperial Group has officially launched the Vote 4 Unity Campaign. This campaign is a strategic step toward revolutionizing the current political climate by uniting the combined opposition to ensure a competitive challenge against the current administration on February 18th, 2025.

“With approximately 70% of candidates registered to represent the One Bermuda Alliance, the Free Democratic Movement or Independent campaigns, the opposition risks fracturing the vote, ultimately benefiting the incumbent government. Nearly 80% of constituencies feature three or four candidates vying for a single seat, potentially allowing the current administration to remain in power with a minority vote. This was the story of the Sandys South Constituency #36 by-election held on October 4th, 2024. PLP were victorious with 36% of the votes despite the combined opposition winning nearly twice as many, 64%.

“Recognizing this reality, FDM Leader Marc Bean, Independent Candidate Renée Webb, and others have publicly called for greater collaboration amongst the opposition. Using the by-election as a case study, it has become clear that efforts to bring change have proven ineffective without a unified approach.

“In response to this challenge, the Emperial Group has created a campaign to consolidate the opposition and present Bermudians with a credible alternative at the polls. By launching Vote 4 Unity, the Emperial Group is taking a decisive step toward fostering unity, genuine representation, and systemic political change.

“The following two weeks will be critical in shaping Bermuda’s future, and the Emperial Group stands ready to join forces with the combined opposition and lead this charge.”

  1. Roger says:

Its not too late to bring all parties together to fight the PLP.

If you don’t you will split the vote and get crushed. OBA, you need to lead this.

  2. PBanks says:

At this stage, would that proposal mean that candidates would withdraw? Are there financial penalties for doing such?

Weird that Emperial Group is using the PLPs own terminology of “combined Opposition” to describe the by election results. PLP has to enjoy that.

  3. hmmm says:

SO, in conclusion, whatever you do, DON’T vote for the current PLP.

  4. Truth says:

The voters are tired of the OBA. Vote Independent candidate folks.

  5. watching says:

Let’s be real…whatever issues some have with the PLP are mostly personality. When you look at some/many of the alternatives, they would have not a clue how to conduct government business on Feb 19.
Be careful folks. It’s not just about who you like or don’t like, or who wants to contribute to their community or not.

Isn’t that why most of the PLP got voted in , by personality , not by qualifications or knowing how to run a country… clearly they have not .
