Members Of Public Stop Attempted Robbery
Police responded to an attempted robbery in Warwick yesterday [Feb 12], where “members of the public came to the assistance of a female visitor, preventing any loss of property, and detained the suspect until police arrived.”
A police spokesperson said, “Around 2:40 on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, police responded to a reported attempted robbery on South Road, near the junction with Ocean Sands Road, Warwick.
“Upon arrival, officers were informed the suspect, a 58-year-old male, had attempted to steal a handbag from an elderly female visitor to the island.
“Members of the public came to the assistance of the female visitor, preventing any loss of property, and detained the suspect until police arrived.
“The Bermuda Police Service wishes to thank those members of the public who came to the assistance of the victim in this matter. The suspect was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
“An investigation into this matter has now commenced and anyone with information is asked to call 211 or, the main police number, 295-0011.”

To rob a tourist is also an insult to all Bermudians and our country, not just our visitors.
It takes the lowest level of depraved pathetic mind to rob an elderly woman.
But this guy thinks its okay to rob an elderly female tourist.
People like this should be deported to another country and banned from our island, they don’t deserve to call Bermuda their home. Vote for this at election.

If we saw an end to crime by increasing the time inside where the grass do not grow. We would have a bill as long as you arm there would be alot of people out of a job.
