Retail Sales Increased 1.4% In Oct 2024
The Ministry of Economy and Labour released the October 2024 Retail Sales Index publication.
A Government spokesperson said, “October’s volume of retail sales index increased 1.4 per cent compared to last year. In value terms, retail sales increased to an estimated $104.1 million.

“Four of the seven sectors recorded a year-over-year volume index increase in October 2024:
- The Food Stores’ sales volume grew 3.8 per cent.
- Service Station’s sales volume increased 2.3 per cent.
- The sales volume for Building Material Stores increased 13.4 per cent.
- The sales volume at Apparel Stores increased 3.9 per cent.
“The following sectors had a decrease in sales volume compared to the previous year:
- The Liquor Stores’ sales volume fell 2.5 per cent.
- The sales volume for Motor Vehicle Stores decreased 1.1 per cent.
- In the All Other Store Types sector [comprising stores selling household items, furniture, appliances, electronics, pharmaceuticals and tourist-related goods], there was a 1.9 per cent decline in sales volume.
“Selected overseas declarations increased 11.4 per cent compared to October 2023.”
