Trey Mallory & UNC Win Season Opener
In the season opener at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex, Trey Mallory and his UNC Wilmington University men’s tennis teammates emerged victorious against Florida Atlantic in a closely contested battle, finishing 4-3.
The competition started with Florida Atlantic claiming the top doubles match. However, UNC Wilmington swiftly bounced back, securing back-to-back wins to clinch the doubles point. Mallory, paired with Jordi Domenech, played a pivotal role by winning the number 3 doubles spot against Segundo Goity Zapico and Lucca Pignaton with a decisive 6-3 victory.
Mallory faced a tough challenge in the number six singles position, going up against Simon Myslivec. Despite a valiant effort, Mallory was defeated in straight sets 7-5, 6-3.
