The Bermuda Centre for Creative Learning [BCCL] announced a “strategic partnership with Christa McAuliffe Academy School of Arts and Sciences [CMASAS], a WASC-accredited, private K-12 online school and one of the top 10 private online high schools in the United States.”

A spokesperson said, “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in BCCL’s commitment to expanding personalized education by offering the Secondary School Program for Year 10-13 students in Bermuda with access to a U.S. high school diploma with CMASAS’ accredited curriculum.

“Under this agreement, CMASAS will deliver its high-quality, asynchronous broad course content to Year 10-13 students enrolled in BCCL’s Secondary School Program and provide personalized support from CMASAS course instructors.

“This program is designed for students who thrive with individualized learning, want to explore unique educational pathways or need a more adaptable high school experience. It is ideal for students looking for flexible learning or have other passions such as sports, music or drama.”

“We are thrilled to partner with BCCL, a forward-thinking organization that shares our commitment to personalized, student-centered learning. By bringing our WASC-accredited curriculum to students in Bermuda through BCCL, we are providing them with the tools and support they need to achieve their academic goals and pursue a globally recognized diploma. This partnership is a testament to our 16 years of dedication to making high-quality education accessible to students worldwide,” says Christopher Geis, Executive Director of CMASAS.

Cindy Corday, Head of School, also commented: “Our mission at BCCL is to provide students in Bermuda with access to world-class education that prepares them for success in a globalized world. Partnering with CMASAS allows us to offer our students a valuable pathway to earning a U.S. high school diploma, while benefiting from the flexibility and personalization that CMASAS is known for. We look forward to growing together and providing exceptional educational opportunities for our students.”

There have been several Bermudians that have been enrolled in CMASAS over the years. Last year’s graduate Bermudian Huw Swift, says, “I really liked the style of learning. The teachers were very helpful and accommodating. They offered lots of different options, and you can customize your curriculum to your liking.”

Bermudian Arden Vickers, Class of 2016 says, “CMASAS was an excellent option for me as the traditional UK curriculum style didn’t suit me. The diverse courses and the flexibility allowed me to do school in the morning and ride in the afternoon. After graduation, I attended Fanshawe College in Canada and University of Brighton in England and the CMASAS diploma was accepted and recognized in both countries.”
