BPS: ‘Police Constable Has Been Dismissed’
The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] has dismissed a Constable following a disciplinary process.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that a Police Constable has been dismissed following a disciplinary process. The officer’s actions amounted to gross misconduct and his breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour were incompatible with continued service in the BPS.”
Police Commissioner Darrin Simons said, “Our ability to police effectively relies on the public’s trust and confidence. If we lose that trust, we compromise our ability to serve our community. Upholding the highest standards of professional conduct is essential to maintaining this trust.
“Notwithstanding this occurrence, I am confident in our ability to move forward with professionalism and dedication.”
The police spokesperson said, “Having regard for privacy matters, no further comment will be provided.”
