BNA Honors Players At Junior Prize Presentation
The Bermuda Netball Association [BNA] recently held its end-of-season Junior Prize Presentation, celebrating the achievements of young players in the 11 & under, 14 & under, and 18 & under divisions, as well as recognizing the tournament winners.
The event highlighted the talent and dedication of the island’s young netballers, showcasing the future of the sport in Bermuda.
11 & Under Division: Special Recognition
In the 11 & under division, each team selected a player for special recognition, acknowledging their contributions and sportsmanship.
- A’Nylah Tucker was recognized from the Dandy Stars.
- Nylah Hardtman was selected for the North Village Lady Rams.
- Quin Burgess was named the Phoenix Sparks player.
- Honor White was chosen for the Storm Lightning.
- Gabriella Babon was recognized for the Storm Thunder.
A’Mariss Dyer was awarded the 11 & under division player’s player, voted on by her peers.
14 & Under Division: Top Scorers and Award Winners
The 14 & under division saw fierce competition in the goal-scoring charts:
- Dani Brown from the North Village Lady Rams was the leading goalscorer with 49 goals.
- Zyari Lawrence from the Phoenix Embers was second with 44 goals.
- Hailey Oduori representing the Storm finished third with 37 goals.
- Shiloh Simmons from the Phoenix Embers scored 29 goals, finishing fourth.
- Azariah Scott from the Phoenix Embers was fifth with 27 goals.
Individual awards in the 14 & under division were:
- Zyari Lawrence from the Phoenix Embers: Top Attacker
- Kenzi McCreary from the Phoenix Embers: Top Defender and MVP
- Nala Richardson from the Storm: Player’s Player
18 & Under Division: Leading Goalscorers and Accolades
The 18 & under division also recognized top goalscorers and outstanding players:
- Kammie Mills from the Phoenix Fire led the division with 105 goals.
- Jamir Hatherley from the Storm was second with 100 goals.
- Jazya Brimmer-Peets, also from the Storm, scored 74 goals, finishing third.
- E’Rynn Paynter from the DC Diamonds was fourth with 67 goals.
- Akina Williams from the North Village Lady Rams scored 52 goals, finishing fifth.
Individual awards in the 18 & under division were:
- Neveah Swan from the North Village Lady Rams: Top Attacker and Player’s Player
- Uni Simmons from the Phoenix Fire: Top Defender
- Jaya Dillas from the Phoenix Fire: MVP
Tournament Champions
The Merle Parfitt Hustle Tournament champions were:
- 14 & Under: Storm [Phoenix Embers runners-up]
- 18 & Under: Phoenix Fire [North Village Lady Rams runners-up]
- Hustle Awards: Vongai Benza [14 & Under], Hailey Trott [18 & Under]
The League Cup champions were:
- 14 & Under: Phoenix Embers [Storm runners-up]
- 18 & Under: Storm [Phoenix Fire runners-up]
