American Couple Enjoy Convex End-to-End
[Written by Stephen Wright]
Cindy and Glenn Kwederis, a couple from Bergen County, New Jersey, marked their 37th wedding anniversary in a memorable way by taking part in the Convex End-to-End charity walk last weekend.
The couple, visiting the island for the first time, described their experience as a “super-fantastic.”
They explored St George’s, Hamilton, and Dockyard, and credited travel writer Rosemary Jones for inspiring their trip through her guidebook Moon Bermuda.
“We had a super-fantastic time and met many families along the railway trail, which was so cool and shaded,” Ms Kwederis told Bernews.
“We were also introduced to a cherry tree, which we all indulged in! The local kiskadee yellow-breasted bird kept us going by singing her tune, which sounded like ‘Hit the Road’.”
She also shared that they had the pleasure of meeting Ms Jones in person. “Rose took us to breakfast on Friday morning – everyone and everything was remarkable.”
Ms Kwederis, 61, praised the organisation of the event and the warmth of the island community.
“I commend the organisers of the event, especially Starla [Williams, the End-to-End event manager]. Bermuda is the place to go for beautiful people and extraordinary landscapes.”
This year’s event supported five local charities: Age Concern [ACB Hardship Programme], Bermuda Audubon Society [Conservation Management Plan for High Point], Bermuda Red Cross [Equipment Rental Revitalisation Programme], the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Bermuda and The Reading Clinic [Core Reading Programme].
