Bermuda Cycling Time-Trial Results
Steven Smith and Skye Ferguson claimed victory in the Bermuda Bicycle Association’s Individual Time-Trial at the weekend.
The riders tackled a 7.5-miles [12 kilometres] course against the clock, with the route starting and finishing at Harrington Sound.
Smith clinched victory in the A Division in a time of 17min 49sec.
Wayne Scott was the top rider in the B Division, finishing fifth overall in 18:45.
Gianluca Bortoli secured the win in the C Division, finishing sixth overall in 19:11.
In the women’s category, Ferguson showcased her endurance and speed, finishing 27th overall in 22:34.
The junior cyclists also impressed, with Ethan Smith winning the 13 and 14 age group, finishing 26th overall in 22:25.
Colette Durkin won the 11 and 12 age group and finishing 29th overall in 23:10.
“The time trial provided an excellent opportunity for Bermuda’s cyclists to test their skills in a solo race against the clock,” said BBA spokesperson.
“The course demanded focus, pacing, and climbing ability, and the riders rose to the challenge.”
