Bermuda Beat Bahamas By Eight Wickets

Delray Rawlins scored 52 from 17 balls as Bermuda defeated the Bahamas by eight wickets to reach the North American Cup final at the Jimmy Powell Oval in the Cayman Islands on Saturday [September 26].

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, the Bahamas were dismissed for 82 in 18.5 overs. Marc Taylor scored 62 from 59 balls and was the only batsman to reach double figures.

Kwasi James led Bermuda’s bowling attack with four wickets for 26 runs from four overs, while Dominic Sabir claimed three for 14 from 3.5 overs. Rawlins, Kamau Leverock and Derrick Brangman took one wicket each.

Rawlins struck two fours and six sixes during Bermuda’s reply, sharing an opening partnership of 37 with Sabir, who contributed 13 from nine balls.
Turan Brown dismissed both openers to finish with two for 24. Leverock remained unbeaten on 11 and captain Terryn Fray finished three not out as Bermuda reached 83 for two in 6.1 overs, with 83 balls remaining.

Rawlins was named Player of the Match. Bermuda will face hosts Cayman Islands in the final on Sunday [September 27].
