Kenita Fox Wins ‘Mother Of The Year’
Kenita Fox won the 56th Mother of the Year award which was presented by the Continental Society of Bermuda.
A spokesperson said, “The Continental Society of Bermuda would like to congratulate their 56th ‘Mother of the Year’ winner, Mrs. Kenita Fox and her daughter, Kennedy Fox. Kennedy is a P3 student at Somerset Primary School. She wrote an endearing letter about her mom describing Mrs. Foxas “the best mom in the whole wide world – who makes her feel loved by everything that she does.”
“Kennedy’s letter was a reminder of how impactful a mother’s love and support can be in shaping the lives of her children. Kennedy and her Mom were honoured at an assembly held at Somerset Primary School on Friday, May 9th.
“The Continentals would like to express a heartfelt thanks to all the students who participated in this year’s essay competition.”
Kennedy Fox’s ‘Mother of the Year’ essay follows below:
I would like to introduce my mother. Her name is Kenita Fox. She is the best mom in the whole wide world! She deserves to be mom of the year because she helps me with school work, piano and Taekwondo, cares and makes me feel loved by everything she does.
My mom helps me with lots of things, one of them is my Taekwondo. When I practice she helps me with my forms, even though she’s learning them with me. When I spar in class, she cheers me on so I feel encouraged to do my best. My mom doing these things makes me feel good and I know that cares for me.
Another thing my mom helps me with is my piano. I started playing around two years ago. My brother has been playing for six years. Every week she takes us to practice. She doesn’t just sit and wait, she pays attention to my lessons so she can help me at home. Many times at home she makes e practice when I don’t want to. I’m glad she makes me practice because now I can read both music clefs and play without looking at my fingers. I feel happy that I’m getting better at piano and that she is proud of me.
In addition to my weekly activities, my mom takes really good care of me. She makes good meals, I especially like her macaroni and cheese. I love her chocolate cake, sometimes she lets me help her make it. My mom is always there to help me with my homework. She makes sure my hair is done and I’m dressed neatly each day. At the end of each day she sings our night time songs and prays with me before I go to sleep. All these things make me feel safe and loved.
In conclusion, my mom is the best. She deserves to be mom of the year because she barely has any free time, but she still works diligently for the family.
