Netball: BNA Summer League Results

The Bermuda Netball Association’s summer league resumed at Bernard’s Park with a series of closely contested matches in both the women’s and co-ed divisions.

In the women’s division, Phoenix Flames defeated St. George’s Cricket Club 24-22. Sydney Santos of Phoenix Flames scored 19 goals and was named MVP, with Jaya Dillas adding 5 goals. Nevaeh Swan was Phoenix Flames’ best attacker, and Imani Smith was best defender. For St. George’s, Nisaiah Berkeley scored 14 goals and was named MVP and best attacker. Stacy O’Brien scored 4 goals, Nicole Smith 3, and Stacy Ann Brown 1. Dezirae Darrell was St. George’s best defender.

PHC secured a narrow 23-22 victory over K-Net Assets. PHC’s Terita Bean, the MVP, scored 14 goals. Sarafina Woolridge contributed 7 goals, while Naomi Crofton and Tyra Simmons each scored 1. Melissa Burrows was PHC’s best attacker, and Tahirah Hill was best defender. Jahtuere Trott of K-Net Assets scored 15 goals and was named MVP. Denise Truks added 7 goals, and Knakita Bent was best attacker.

Devonshire Recreation Club edged out Lady Stars 17-16. Miesha Greaves led Devonshire with 7 goals. Kessiah Jackson, the best attacker, and Kezhari Knight both scored 5 goals. Tina Wall was named best defender and MVP for Devonshire. For Lady Stars, Marissa Brangman scored 9 goals, Julesa Robinson 6, and Kim Thompson 1. Chiaje Rudo was Lady Stars’ best attacker, Asante Chapman was best defender, and Kaylee Lema was MVP.

In the co-ed division, Storm Chasers registered a dominant 40-3 win against RenRe. Antoine Williams of Storm Chasers scored 34 goals and was named MVP. Kaamilah Nasir, the best attacker, added 5 goals, and Jamir Hatherley scored 1. Quinaceo Hunt was Storm Chasers’ best defender. For RenRe, Jevon Swan scored 2 goals, and Chelzea Somner, the best defender, scored 1. Suriya Burger was RenRe’s best attacker, and Megan Diel was MVP.

The final co-ed match saw BHB defeat the Gold Diggers 20-11. Sheldon Bahadosingh of BHB, the best attacker, scored 16 goals. Demiqua Daniels, the MVP, added 3 goals, and Stacy O’Brien scored 1. Jahmair Lewis-Trott was BHB’s best defender. For the Gold Diggers, Paul Simons, the best attacker, scored 4 goals. Jarye Bean and Quinae Outerbridge each scored 3 goals. Rakeem Deshields was best defender, and Quin Outerbridge was named MVP.
