Bermuda Dance Academy celebrated its 10th anniversary on June 7 with two dynamic performances showcasing student talent and community spirit.
A spokesperson said, “If you missed Bermuda Dance Academy’s breathtaking “10 Years of Dance Excellence” performances on June 7th, you truly missed a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of talent, passion, and artistry. Directed by visionary founder Ms. Nikia Manders, the Academy delivered two show-stopping performances that left audiences buzzing long after the curtains closed.
“From the moment the lights dimmed, the energy was electric. Our distinguished guests—Patrons, Ultimate Platinum Patrons, families, and friends—packed the venue, eager to witness a decade of dance mastery unfold. The first show, a vibrant two-hour showcase, and the second, a three-hour marathon of mesmerizing performances and presentations, proved to be an unforgettable night of entertainment, emotion, and inspiration.
“Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, the lobby was filled with blown-up recital flyers from the past ten years, showcasing the Academy’s rich history and memorable moments. A beautifully crafted cake was also on display, celebrating their milestone anniversary and symbolizing the sweetness of a decade of dedication and success.
“What made this milestone event so extraordinary? It was more than just dance—it was a celebration of perseverance, community, and the boundless spirit of Bermuda’s rising stars. Dancers of all ages dazzled the crowd, earning medals, certificates, and T-shirts in recognition of their dedication. Proud parents, many of whom have supported the Academy from the beginning, created a video to thank Ms. Manders for her unwavering support and mentorship that has transformed young lives through dance.
“One attendee exclaimed, “It was outstanding! We absolutely loved every minute. I couldn’t believe three hours could go so quickly!”

Celebrating Our Artistic Family
“The show featured breathtaking choreography from Bermuda Dance Academy’s talented instructors—Nikia Manders, Shawnae Brangman, Sierra Spencer, Imani Edwards, Jaidah Bailey, Coral Waddell, and Makaylie Smith—alongside inspiring works from guest choreographers Dr. Andrea Markus and Mikayla Wilson.
“And the performances? Absolutely unforgettable. The opening jazz number to Madonna’s “Vogue” set the tone for an evening filled with style, grace, and pure talent. The tap routines, especially Tap II’s tribute to Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal,” had the audience on their feet. Other crowd favorites included “Cats,” “Battleships,” and a hip-hop country dance to the latest hit song, “Boots on the Ground.”
Ms. Manders shared, “This night was a dream come true. Seeing our dancers shine, celebrating our history, and feeling the love from everyone in the room—this is what it’s all about. Bermuda Dance Academy has truly become a family, and tonight, we celebrated that legacy.”
