AXA XL Marks Global Day Of Giving’s 20th Year
AXA XL celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Global Day of Giving, with Bermuda-based employees joining thousands worldwide in volunteering for local charities as part of AXA’s Week for Good.
A spokesperson said, “AXA XL recently marked the 20th anniversary of our Global Day of Giving as part of AXA’s Week for Good. During the Global Day of Giving, more than 3,900 AXA XL colleagues around the world volunteered their time and talent to charitable organizations in their communities by participating in 242 projects.”
Bermuda-based employees participated in projects with the following local charities:
- Bermuda Zoological Society – Trunk Island – Clearing of invasive trees.
- Hospitals Auxiliary of Bermuda [The BARN] – Cleaning, dusting, organizing clothes on the racks, checking and sorting donated items.
- Meals on Wheels – Cooking and serving up the food for more than 200 clients of the charity as well as cleaning up the kitchen after the meals were prepared.
- The Reading Clinic – Creating videos of people reading picture books that could be posted on The Reading Clinic’s website and social media.
- Tomorrow’s Voices – Painting, sweeping, moving furniture, drawing murals and cleaning windows at the charity’s Warwick location.
- Waterstart – Burt’s Island – Repainting a water catchment, counting oysters in the farm, and preparing vegetable gardens and cedarberry seeds.
