Highlights from Bermuda’s Tour de Force
The spokesperson said, “Spanning Canada, Bermuda and the Caribbean, CCLD 2025 brought together over 100 distinguished delegates under the banner of impact-driven leadership.
“The Bermuda leg exposed select delegates to four thematic days where the island’s warmth, tradition, innovation and natural beauty converged at every turn:
Day 1 — Cultural Vibrancy:
“Gombeys danced. Stories unfolded. From a heritage walk through St. George’s to the quiet luxury of a boutique hotel tour and a dinner curated with Bermudian flair, delegates were welcomed with sensory delight and cultural depth.
Day 2 — The Blue Economy:
“From Nonsuch Island’s wildlife sanctuary to BIOS’ world-renowned research, the day cast light on Bermuda’s environmental stewardship. Conversations with the Governor offered a lens on engaging at the state level and an atmospheric trio of Crystal Caves, Baileys Ice cream and local swizzle rounded out a day of wonder and strategy.
Day 3 — Economic Engine:
“Delegates traversed Bermuda’s financial, artistic and labour institutions – with a fireside chat at the BMA, courtesy visit with the Premier, artist encounters, a union town hall, exquisite tastings at Bacardi and a powerhouse panel featuring trailblazers from insurance, tech, shipping, and governance. The day culminated in an evening of elevated networking at The Reefs.
Day 4 — Social Resilience:
“The final segment embraced social impact: from conversations centred on children as the silent victims of abuse, to blue bird conservation efforts and contemplative walks along the Railway Trail. The tone was emotional, forward-looking and rooted in community.
“Supplementing this formal agenda, a ‘Hop-On Hop-Off’ initiative transformed the tour mini bus into a moving forum for spontaneous exchange – where hierarchies faded and perspectives expanded. Leading figures across human rights, architecture and enterprise joined the bus at pivotal moments to spark fresh provocations and advance ideas beyond formal constructs.
Bermuda Delegates Abroad: Leading by Example
“Cara Lambe, Jaret Simmons, and Ashley Smith represented Bermuda admirably on regional study tours. Notably, Cara Lambe served as Lead Delegate on the Barbados tour and delivered a powerful valedictory on behalf of the entire 2025 cohort — evidencing Bermuda’s growing capacity to lead with distinction.
Closing Reflections: Leadership as Legacy
“The CCLD 2025 culminated in a landmark closing in Barbados. Ideas cultivated during the study tours were distilled into shared insights in service of a more connected commonwealth. Richardson-Augustus joined a distinguished alumni panel including Vice Admiral Antonette Wemyss-Gorman, the world’s only female head of an armed force. The conversation underscored that true leadership is measured not only by personal achievement but by a legacy of impact.
“The esteemed audience included President HRH Princess Anne, Chair Wes Hall, Barbados President Dame Sandra Mason, Sir Trevor Carmichael KC, affirming the Dialogue’s international resonance.
