Centuries from Warwick Workmen’s Club batsmen and a one-wicket thriller in the Eastern County rivalry highlighted a full slate of Bermuda cricket in the Premier and First Divisions.
St. David’s Cricket Club vs. Bailey’s Bay
St. David’s Cricket Club defeated Bailey’s Bay by one wicket at Lord’s in St. David’s.
Batting first after winning the toss, Bailey’s Bay was bowled out for 129. Coolidge Durham was the top scorer with 48 runs. Justin Pitcher led the St. David’s bowling attack, taking three wickets for 29 runs.
In reply, St. David’s reached 133 for the loss of nine wickets. Captain Derrick Brangman scored an unbeaten 38 to guide his team to victory. For Bailey’s Bay, Kyle Hodsoll was the top bowler with four wickets for 41 runs.
Warwick Workmen’s Club vs. Somerset Cricket Club
Warwick Workmen’s Club earned a 78-run victory over Somerset Cricket Club at the Southampton Oval.
Warwick posted a total of 315 all out, led by centuries from Zeri Tomlinson, who scored 102, and Kamau Leverock, who added 100. Antonio Darrell was the most effective bowler for Somerset, taking four wickets for 82 runs.
Somerset was bowled out for 237 in their reply. Player-coach Janeiro Tucker top-scored with 79. Shonari Boyles-Simons was the pick of the Warwick bowlers, claiming four wickets for 50 runs.
St. George’s Cricket Club vs. Cleveland County
St. George’s Cricket Club secured an 84-run win against Cleveland County at Wellington Oval.
St. George’s was bowled out for 233, with Jason Anderson anchoring the innings with 70 runs. Aciram Burgess led the Cleveland bowling with three wickets for 24 runs.
Cleveland County was dismissed for 149 in their chase. Jabari Darrell was their top scorer with 40. Zachary Edmund was the top bowler for St. George’s, taking two wickets for 16 runs.
Southampton Rangers vs. PHC
In the First Division, Southampton Rangers recorded a 168-run victory over PHC at the PHC Stadium.
Southampton Rangers scored 211 all out, with Oronde Bascome leading the way with 65 runs. Chris Douglas was the best bowler for PHC, taking three wickets for 42 runs.
PHC was bowled out for 43 in response. Douglas was also their top scorer with 20. Southampton’s Dion Stovell delivered an exceptional bowling performance, taking five wickets for just three runs in five overs to seal the win.
