Traffic: Single Lane Closure On Middle Road
The Ministry of Public Works and Environment has announced a single lane closure on Middle Road near Five-Star Island in Southampton Parish, starting 17 July, for urgent road edge repairs expected to last up to five months.
A police spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works and Environment advises the motoring public that a single lane closure will be in effect on Middle Road in Southampton Parish, directly across from property 118 Middle Road near Five-Star Island.
“This closure is required to facilitate urgent road edge repair works, which commenced on Thursday, 17 July 2025. The works may remain in effect for up to five months. Normal working hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays.
“Traffic controls will be in place using signal lights, and during peak traffic hours, Ministry personnel will assist in directing traffic. Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, expect delays, and, if possible, use South Road as an alternative route.
“The Ministry apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the cooperation of the motoring public. For further information, please refer to the attached Road Traffic Notice.
“*Radio station announcers are kindly requested to share this notice with listeners to help inform all motorists who may be affected.”
