Ball Hockey: Hamilton Princess & ACT Win
Hamilton Princess posted a shutout victory and ACT won a high-scoring contest as the Bermuda Ball Hockey Winter League served up a nineteen-goal doubleheader at the PCC Hockey Rink.
Hamilton Princess 6, Alexandra Mosher 0
Hamilton Princess dominated the opening fixture, shutting out Alexandra Mosher 6-0.
Hamilton Princess took a 3-0 lead in the first period on two goals from Mathew Benson and the first of the night from Jean-Michael Tremblay.
Tremblay was the lone scorer in the second period, extending the lead to 4-0. He completed a hat trick in the third period, scoring the final goal after Bill Calko also found the back of the net, securing the comprehensive victory.
ACT 8, BDA Spirits 5
The night’s second game was a goal frenzy, with ACT eventually outscoring BDA Spirits 8-5.
ACT established an early 3-1 advantage in the first period with goals from Anthony Kapsimalis, Ben Wilshaw and Luca Papania. Andrew Bonner scored the lone reply for BDA Spirits.
ACT extended the lead to 6-2 in the second period, outscoring BDA Spirits 3-1. Bonner scored his second for BDA Spirits, but goals from Samuel Vieira, Townie Jackson and Chris Cairns kept ACT firmly in control.
BDA Spirits mounted a comeback in the final period, outscoring ACT 3-2 on strikes from Nathan Ische, Ryan Marshall and Mathieu Ingelman. However, Vieira added his second of the game for ACT, alongside a goal from James Amaral, ensuring ACT claimed the 8-5 victory.
