Global Entrepreneurship Week From Nov 17–23
The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC] is gearing up to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week [GEW] Bermuda 2025 from November 17th to 23rd, joining more than 200 countries in spotlighting entrepreneurship as a driver of innovation, job creation, and growth.
A spokesperson said, “This year’s theme, Together We Build, highlights the power of collaboration and shared ambition. BEDC has curated a week of events to inspire entrepreneurs at every stage, while creating opportunities for learning, networking, and community building.
“The celebrations begin with the Wave of Opportunity Pitch Competition on Monday, November 17th at the Hamilton Princess, where local entrepreneurs will compete for up to $125,000 in grant funding provided by Global Atlantic. Finalists in the Main and Youth categories will present to a panel of judges, while the public will also vote for the People’s Choice Award. This award offers one finalist, not selected for a judged prize, a renewed opportunity to secure up to $25,000 in funding through community support.
“On Thursday, November 20th at Ruth Seaton James Auditorium, Pinky Cole, Founder of Slutty Vegan, will take part in a fireside chat entitled ‘From Hustle to Empire – The Entrepreneurial Truths.’ In this conversation, she will share the lessons and pivots that shaped her journey from a shared kitchen to a global brand. To set the stage, the evening will open with fast-paced Spark Sessions led by the BEDC team, providing entrepreneurs with practical tips and insights.
“The week’s signature event takes place on Friday, November 21st at the Grotto Bay Beach Resort, The Together We Build: Experiential Full-Day Conference. From 9:00am to 9:00pm, the conference will feature international keynote speakers Pinky Cole and actor/entrepreneur Mack Wilds, along with breakout sessions, a networking lunch with a B2B Sponsor Booth activation, followed by the closing Cocktails with Creators reception.
“The week concludes on Saturday, November 22nd with the Pitch it to Pinky: Culinary Creator Showcase at Bacardi Headquarters. Local chefs and culinary entrepreneurs will pitch their signature vegan creations to Pinky Cole and a panel of judges, followed by a live tasting experience open to the public.”
“GEW continues to be one of the most important weeks of the year for Bermuda’s entrepreneurial ecosystem,” said Erica Smith, Executive Director of BEDC. “It brings together aspiring and established entrepreneurs, partners, and supporters to celebrate innovation and explore what is possible when we build together. We encourage the public to take part, especially in this year’s full-day conference, which promises to be an inspiring and action-focused experience.”
The spokesperson said, “The BEDC thanks the 2025 GEW sponsors, whose support makes this week possible. This year’s Major Partners are One Communications and the Bermuda Tourism Authority, with Bacardi, Butterfield, and Cox Hallett Wilkinson joining as Supporters. Their generosity ensures continued growth for Bermuda’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Sponsorship opportunities remain open, and organizations interested in partnering are encouraged to contact BEDC or learn more online.
