Football: Premier And First Division Results

The Bermuda football leagues saw a weekend of action across both divisions, with Somerset Trojans, Somerset Eagles, and Southampton Rangers earning wins in the First Division, while X-Road’s, St. George’s Colts, and Dandy Town Hornets secured victories in the Premier Division.

The Somerset Trojans earned a 2-0 win over Wolves at the Somerset Cricket Club. After a scoreless first half, Jadan Ratteray Smith opened the scoring in the 49th minute, and Tahj Wade doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 64th.

At Lord’s in St. David’s, Somerset Eagles edged St. David’s 1-0. Rushaine Murphy scored the only goal of the match in the 24th minute.

Southampton Rangers recorded one of the most dominant wins of the season, defeating Hamilton Parish 15-0 at the Wellington Oval. Sijay Samuels scored five times, Ellington Weldon added four, and substitute Khalil Symonds netted twice. Jahir Smith, Daischon Chin, Dominique Hill, Dakarrie Steede, and Donte Brangman each added one goal for Rangers.

In Premier Division play, X-Road’s defeated the PHC Zebras 3-0 at Lord’s in St. David’s. Paul Simons gave X-Road’s an early lead in the second minute before Donavan Thompson and Samuel McKittrick added second-half goals in the 67th and 74th minutes, respectively.

The St. George’s Colts earned a 3-0 victory over the Boulevard Blazers at the Wellington Oval. Following a goalless first half, Jarazinho Basset broke the deadlock in the 75th minute. Liam Evans extended the lead three minutes later, and Blaiz Hall completed the scoring in the 86th.

At the Police Field, the Dandy Town Hornets secured a 3-1 win over Devonshire Colts after taking a 3-0 halftime lead. David Jones Jr., Riley Robinson, and Edry Moore all scored for the Hornets in the first half. Senoj Mitchell pulled one back for Devonshire Colts, but the Hornets held firm for the win.
