Presidents Cup Race Postponed To Oct 26
The Bermuda Bicycle Association [BBA] has postponed this Sunday’s Presidents Cup Road Race to October 26 due to the unavailability of a police motor escort.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Bicycle Association [BBA] wishes to advise that the Presidents Cup Road Race scheduled for this Sunday has been postponed to Sunday, October 26.
“Unfortunately, we were unable to secure the required police motor escort for this weekend. We recognise the many competing demands on resources following recent activity on the island and fully understand the challenges in scheduling support. For the safety of both riders and the motoring public, it is in everyone’s best interest to reschedule the event.
“This postponement is particularly disappointing as Bermuda’s top riders — Conor White, Kaden Hopkins, Nic Narraway, and Gabby Arnold — are currently on island and had planned to use the race as preparation for next weekend’s Elite Caribbean Cycling Championships in Belize.
“We look forward to staging the Presidents Cup on its new date and thank the public and our partners for their understanding.”
