Daniel Phillips Advances In Doubles Tournament
Bermudian tennis player Daniel Phillips concluded the opening day of the Division One American Fall Individual Tennis Championships with mixed results, with a loss in singles before securing a win in doubles.
Competing for Tulane University, Phillips was defeated 6-2, 6-4 in his singles match against Alejandro Jacome from Wichita State University.
Phillips then partnered with Hady El Kordy in the Men’s Doubles competition. The Tulane pair defeated Elijah Cham and Guglielmo Verdese of the University of South Florida 8-1.
The victory advances Phillips and El Kordy to the next round of the doubles tournament.
