Kazumi Karate Open Set For November 23
The Kazumi Karate Open is set to take place on Sunday [Nov 23] at the Whitney Institute Auditorium.
A spokesperson said, “The Kazumi Karate Open takes place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Whitney Institute Auditorium. The event is hosted by the Tabata Ha Dojo under the direction of Sensei Charles Butterfield. It brings young athletes together in a setting built on discipline, respect, and unity. It offers a positive space for families and supporters at a time when violence affects many parts of our island.
“Doors open at 9:30 AM. Competition starts at 10:00 AM. Spectator entry is $15.
“Athletes from several dojos will compete in kata and kumite. The event highlights the work instructors do to guide students toward confidence, focus, and personal growth. The athletes show the strength found in structured training and strong mentorship.
“The Kazumi Karate Open also serves as one of the sanctioned events needed for national team consideration. This gives each match clear purpose and raises the standard for every competitor.
“The organizers encourage the public to attend and support Bermuda’s youth. The event provides a chance for the community to stand together and promote healthy paths for young people.”
