Remembrance Day Parade Set For Tuesday
The annual Remembrance Day Parade will be held on Tuesday, November 11 along Front Street, Hamilton, featuring wreath-laying by dignitaries, performances by local bands, and participation by the Royal Bermuda Regiment and other uniformed services.
A Government spokesperson said, “On Tuesday, November 11, the Remembrance Day Parade will take place to commemorate those who fell in the two World Wars and other campaigns of the Allied Forces.
“The ceremony gets underway at 10.30 am along Front Street, Hamilton.
“Wreaths will be laid at the Cenotaph by His Excellency the Governor, Andrew Murdoch CMG, Premier David Burt, JP, MP, and other dignitaries.
“The Royal Bermuda Regiment [RBR] which is celebrating their 60th Anniversary Year, will support the ceremony with a Guard on parade and will be joined in the parade by the Bermuda Police Service, Sea Cadets and the Junior Leaders.
“Music for the ceremony will be provided by the RBR Band & Corps of Drums, the Somerset Brigade Band, the Salvation Army Divisional Band, the North Village Band and the Bermuda Islands Pipe Band.
“The public can view Tuesday’s ceremony live on Government’s Facebook page – www.facebook.com/bermudagovernment or on CITV’s Youtube channel, WOW Ch. 102 or OneComm Ch. 2. The public is advised that there will be road closures Tuesday morning due to the parade. Persons are encouraged to consider alternative routes to avoid delays.”
