Schools To Reopen Monday Following Hurricane
The Ministry of Education announced that all public and private schools will reopen on Monday [Nov 3], following safety inspections and clean-up efforts after Hurricane Melissa.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Education is advising that all public and private schools will reopen and resume normal operations on Monday, 3 November 2025, following safety inspections and clean-up efforts completed after Hurricane Melissa.
Minister of Education, Senator Crystal Caesar said, “The Ministry extends its gratitude to the assessment teams and school staff for their dedication to ensuring a secure learning environment for students and educators. I am pleased to confirm that schools can safely reopen on Monday. I want to thank our parents and guardians for their patience, and our education professionals for their commitment to getting our schools back up and running.”
The spokesperson said, “Key details:
- “Public and private schools: Open on regular schedules, Monday, 3 November, 2025.
- “Public school buses and regular public transportation services will operate on normal routes and times.
- “Schools with before and/or afterschool services will resume those services.
- “Staff impacted by the storm should notify their school leader.
- “Students/families impacted by the storm should notify their school’s counsellor.”
