Four St George’s Shops ‘Pop In’ To Hamilton
Long Story Short, Lacquered Lounge, Salt Spray Soap, and Confections Bermuda have opened a festive holiday pop-up at Lookie Lookie in Hamilton to showcase their offerings to city shoppers.
A spokesperson said, “A month ago, Kristin White, owner of Long Story Short gift shop and tour company, reached out to some of her fellow St. George’s entrepreneurs with an idea – to showcase their stores in the City of Hamilton.
She said, “During the holiday season, I’ve often thought that it would be great if some St. George’s stores could have a pop-up in the bustling City. We have so many cool products – unique handmade items, specialty curated gifts, and gift certificates for tours, art workshops, spa services, and more! But many people are just unaware of what we have to offer in the East End. I wanted us to showcase our businesses during a time when Bermuda’s residents are shopping, so they could buy our gifts and goodies and be reminded to come shop with us in our beautiful spaces in St. George’s.”
Lookie Lookie, located within Washington Mall, is a hub for Bermuda’s entrepreneurs, authors, artists and creatives, currently providing space for over 45 local businesses to sell their wares.
Ms. White continues, “I reached out to Lookie Lookie owner Kimwana Eve, to see if she’d be interested in hosting a pop-up of some St. George’s businesses over the holiday period. She thought it was a great idea, and wanted to work with us to make it possible. We’ve just set up the space and I’m so excited we were able to execute on this idea, just in time for the busy Christmas season!”
Ms. Eve is also enthusiastic about the initiative, saying: “These St. George’s shops are bringing some new and interesting products to Lookie Lookie so I’m very pleased to provide this opportunity. My goal is to create a platform for Bermuda’s entrepreneurs and, although these four businesses have their own shops, Lookie Lookie is right in the heart of the city, so this will introduce them to a new audience.”
A spokesperson added, “The four shops featured are Long Story Short, Lacquered Lounge, Salt Spray Soap, and Confections Bermuda.”
“Each shop has a few of our products on the shelf at Lookie Lookie. Of course we weren’t able to bring everything we sell in our shops, but we’ve selected some unique items, gift sets, and special stocking stuffers.
- “Long Story Short’s new candle line, designed to tell stories about Bermuda’s history and culture, are available at the pop-up, alongside their popular ‘daily affirmations’ glass mugs.
- “Lacquered Lounge, an eco-wellness spa and boutique, prepped some special skincare and pedicure gift sets. Their satin sleep masks are also available.
- “Salt Spray Soap’s Beach Bliss Bundle includes their handmade skincare products – soap, body butter, massage oil, and lip balm – plus a loofah and cloth.
- “Confections much-loved sugar cookies with their ‘pink sand’ sprinkles are available in keepsake cookie tins. They also have their charcuterie boards and tea towels.
“The Lookie Lookie pop-up will run until the end of January, with potential for other occasions throughout the year.”
