Bermuda Arts Centre’s ‘Winter Blues’ Show

January 21, 2026 | 0 Comments

The Bermuda Arts Centre will host its “Winter Blues” exhibition on Sunday [Jan 25], showcasing blue-themed artwork by local creative members alongside live painting and artist meet-and-greets.

A spokesperson said, “We have chosen the theme Winter Blues not only because of the season, but because blue itself is such a magical and expressive colour. It reflects the beautiful ocean that surrounds us and those winter storms that roll through, only accentuating our turquoise waters even more.

“Winter is a cooler season, one that deepens blue tones in our landscape while also mirroring many of our emotions. A new year, uncertainty, pending storms – it all adds up to blue.

“This exhibition features work in all media, sizes, and price ranges. Feeling a little blue? A walk through this show may help. From dramatic storms and blue moons to quiet, glowing coves, we hope this collection inspires viewers to see January from a fresh perspective.

“It’s a good afternoon in Dockyard. Come early to see the Bermuda Plein Air Group painting on location as they capture the history and beauty of the historic Dockyard. The artists will gather at the Arts Centre at 12 noon for the opening of the show. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet the Plein Air painters, talk with the artists, and learn more about the joy of painting in an outdoor studio.

“To add to the fun, we’re hosting a Blue Mocktail Competition. Sample our blue mocktails and help decide who should be crowned Molitave Mocktail Maker of 2026. Light refreshments will be served.

“We invite everyone to rediscover Dockyard, travel through a blue journey, and come out smiling on the other side.

“The Bermuda Arts Centre is open daily from 11:00am to 4:00pm and can be reached at 534-2809, via email at bermudaartscentre@gmail.com, or online at artbermuda.com.”
