City Donates $14,000 To Two Charities
The City of Hamilton has made charitable donations of $4,000 to Compassionate Care and $10,000 to the Salvation Army.
The spokesperson said, “The City of Hamilton has continued its tradition of supporting community-based organizations with charitable donations today to the Salvation Army and Compassionate Care Partners [formerly Friends of Hospice].”
“Earlier this morning, Mayor Charles Gosling and City CEO Dwayne Caines joined representatives from both organizations at City Hall to present donation cheques on behalf of the City.
City CEO Dwayne Caines, Area Commander for the Salvation Army Captain Alfred Esdaille and Mayor Charles Gosling:
“Compassionate Care Partners received a donation of $4,000, raised through the City’s annual Christmas raffle. The raffle was organized by the City’s Engagement Committee as part of the City’s internal holiday celebrations and is a long-standing initiative aimed at supporting local charities during the holiday season. Members of the Engagement Committee joined the Mayor and CEO for the cheque presentation to Compassionate Care Partners. Meanwhile, the Salvation Army received a $10,000 donation as part of the City’s annual charitable giving.
“During the presentation Mayor Gosling highlighted the importance of supporting organizations that deliver essential services.”
Mayor Gosling said, “Supporting organizations like the Salvation Army and Compassionate Care Partners is part of the City of Hamilton’s mission to uplift our community.
“These organizations provide vital services every day, from feeding and sheltering those in need with dignity, to strengthening hospice and palliative care services for individuals and families across Bermuda. Winter can be a particularly difficult time for many, and we hope that donations like these help ease that burden while encouraging others to give. The Salvation Army and Compassionate Care Partners are there for our community every day of the year, offering vital support.”

This annual donation assists us in meeting the immediate needs of individuals and families throughout the year and strengthens our ability to serve the community.”
