Daniel Phillips Helps Tulane Defeat UTSA 4–3
Bermudian tennis player Daniel Phillips helped Tulane University secure a 4–3 victory over the University of Texas at San Antonio [UTSA] in a non-conference men’s tennis match.
Phillips contributed to Tulane’s success in doubles, teaming with Lance Nisbet to earn a 6–3 win over UTSA’s Oskar Grzegorzewski and Ben Chetewy Ungar. The victory helped Tulane claim the doubles point and take an early lead in the overall match.
He also competed at No. 1 singles for Tulane, where he faced Grzegorzewski, ranked No. 1,271. Phillips won the opening set 6–3 before Grzegorzewski responded to take the second set 6–1 and the deciding set 6–2, earning the singles point for UTSA.
