Bermuda U-14 Tennis Teams Claim Victories
Bermuda’s under-14 teams recorded victories at the ITF World Junior Tennis event in Santa Tecla, El Salvador, with both the boys’ and girls’ sides winning their group ties.
The girls beat Aruba 3-0 in group B.
Arianna Parra defeated Sophie Lynn Koolman 6-4, 6-2, before Chloe McBrearty secured the tie with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Eva Angelina Benschop.
The doubles ended early, with Aruba retiring at 6-1 in the first set.
The boys beat Suriname 2-1 in group C.
Riley Maybury lost 6-0, 6-3 to Alexi Currie, but Trystan Thompson levelled the tie with a 6-4, 7-6 win over Mitchel Hathie, taking the tie-break 7-3.
Manuel Maldonado and Thompson won the deciding doubles, beating Currie and Hathie 6-3, 6-2.
