Bermuda U-14 Teams Finish ITF Campaign
The Bermuda Under-14 tennis team’s campaign at the ITF World Junior competition in Santa Tecla, El Salvador, concluded with the girls finishing eighth and the boys ninth.
The girls secured eighth place with a 2-1 victory over St Lucia.
Arianna Parra lost her singles match 2-4, 4-2, 10-2 to Merkisha Justin, before Chloe McBrearty levelled the tie with a 4-1, 4-0 win over Kahenya Mukora.
Parra and McBrearty then combined to win the doubles 2-4, 4-0, 10-5 against Samuella Bertrand and Mukora.
In the boys’ division, Bermuda were defeated 2-0 by Panama.
Trystan Thompson lost 4-0, 4-1 to Gabriele Parcells, while Manuel Maldonado fell by the same score to Matias Marquez.
